The Handy Kaufmans, New Jersey’s foremost underachieving rock band, are about to embark on one final tour. Either they make it big this time or they resign themselves to a life of 9-to-5 mediocrity. Lee (Christian Campbell, “Trick”), their drummer, is a control freak and being pushed out by his retiring parents. Donnie (John Paul Pitoc, “Trick”), lead singer and compulsive lothario, and Big Frank (Jay Leggett, “Employee of the Month”), the incompetent but gold-hearted manager, are always causing mischief. Mike, the chief song-writer, tries to emulate the tortured-artist lifestyle of the icons he idolizes. When their bassist, Jim (Bret Domrose of Keanu Reeves’ band DOGSTAR), electrocutes himself, the band is joined by last-minute replacement Trixie (Lara Wickes, “Entourage”), a wild beauty and bassist who sparks up Lee’s dormant romantic instincts.
